For PhD applicants, the minimum English requirement: TOEFL 80 or IELTS Band 6.5 or CET-6 492. An average score on UG/Master transcript higher than 85 (full 100) has a better chance for successful application.

We support exceptional PhD candidates to apply for the prestigious Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS). As a recipient of the HKPFS, you will receive an annual stipend of HK$331,200 (approximately US$42,460) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$13,800 (approximately US$1,760) per year
Each awardee of the Fellowship will also receive an entrance scholarship from CityU (around HK$89,496/~USD11,473)!
